"Figure Weights" — 49

Here's another one of my punny pictures:

(Digital, Corel Painter with Wacom Cintiq)

Get it? Eight figure eights, lifting weights? *drum* Bah-dum-tiss. Thanks, I'm here every day. In fact, you can't get away from me. Well, if you change the page, but anyway...

"All The Birds" — 48

The birds and the telephone cable system in this piece don't actually exist:

(Digital, Corel Painter with Wacom Cintiq)

That's because I painted the sky first, and then "erased" everything else out o the image. Cool, huh?

"Investigator For Justice" — 47

A good investigator seeks justice in the smallest places:

"The Clammy Proposal" — 46

Even octopuses can get nervous popping the question:

Fortunately, the clam's on his side.

"About To Be Baby Blues" — 45

You can probably guess what color this baby's about to be when those blocks fall over:

"A Tornado Of Words" — 44

I played around with some tools in Anime Studio Pro 7:

And that's when this image popped into my mind. It's like a cross between an educational, animated show and a children's book.

"Constructed Reflections" — 43

The overlap of visions:

"A Surprising Friend" — 42

We tend to think of Jack-In-The-Box toys as scary, but...maybe not to everyone:

(Pencil, pen, and paper)

"A Fair Gamble" — 41

The only kind of gamble you can count on:

(Pencil, pen, and paper)

"The Jubilee Award" — 40

I went to the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival several weeks ago:

It's always a little difficult to describe the experience to people who haven't been there before. I mean, there's movies—lots of 'em. And filmmakers; lots of them, too! And late nights, hanging out with said filmmakers 'til 3 in the morning in Downtown San Antonio? Priceless.

Also, a few of my bros and I created a new trailer for 2014. (It was actually for 2013, but that's another story.) Hopefully we get to see our work on the big screen next year.

And if you've never made it to the "Christian Oscars" yet, I encourage you to make a special visit to San Antonio a year from now. It's an amazing, unique experience, and you get to see some great life-changing films that carry a lot of impact. See you in 2014!

"Clinging Fear" — 39

A fear I believe many of us have (naturally):

"Far From Pleased" — 38

This is not a very hoppy bunny:

(Digital, 4th-gen iPod Touch)

"A Natural Point Of View" — 37

True beauty can be found in the creation of the earth:

"Tall Thoughts" — 36

Top hats deserve tall thoughts:

(Digital, 4th gen iPod Touch)

"The Inside Joke" — 35

Inside jokes are a funny thing:

(Digital, Corel Painter with Wacom Cintiq)

They require each person to know the context in order to get the punchline. They're either hilarious, or alienating (because you feel left out for not knowing what's funny).

"The Big Stretch" — 34

I see our cats do this often:

(Digital, Corel Painter with Wacom Cintiq)

And sometimes I'll hear this...strange...cracking noise. But I guess it feels good to them. Can't argue with that!

"New Beginnings" — 33

Want to know something interesting about this piece?

(Digital, Anime Studio Pro 7)

Every single line in this vector drawing is straight.

"Afterthought" — 32

Dogs often get distracted:

(Digital, Anime Studio Pro 7)

Although I must admit, the chances of this happening are quite slim.

"Open Run" — 31

The road beckons:

(Pencil and pen on 70-lb. cream paper)

"The Young Salesman" — 30

They start young:

(Digital, Corel Painter with Wacom Cintiq)

Often it seems we take kids for, well..."kids." As in the image of a young human unable to think much for him or herself, or understand what's going on. But they're smarter than we think, and not in the direction most adults tend to go.

"Floating Gold" — 29

The result of messing around:

(Digital, Corel Painter with Wacom Cintiq)

And I started to see clouds with sunlight hitting them.

"The Fuzzy Detective" — 28

Cuteness fighting evil:

(Digital, Corel Painter with Wacom Cintiq)

Pretty sure it's a win-win.
